Well, that was fun. I think I’m going to start practicing the saxophone again. I brought it with me from Burleson. Paden and I are going to start writing a mockumentary called “Fish” about identity crises at college. I feel the burn, the need to create. It is consuming like the ever-cliché flame, but it is there nonetheless and I shall obey. I am optimistic. It is time. It is time to sculpt an idea into art. Timeless? Probably not. Even good? Who knows. I am certain only of the fufillment it will provide me, and that is something I would certainly welcome into my life right now. I’m going to try once more, to put pen to paper, type to text, idea to image. See you on the flip – side.

It Begins Again

I am now living in an apartment with three close friends, with two others living a minute-long walk away, but for some reason I feel an implicit lack of something. A vacancy, and I’m not sad about it or pissed or anything particularly destructive, I must simply comment on the whistling of the wind that occupies this space.

I am worried because I think that void can only be filled by a companion, something I have not required in my life for some time now. For about a year I have chosen to remain single, or have eluded myself into believing I was choosing such a path. I did not want a companion, to place it simply. And I do not really want one now for some reason. But I can sense a psychological need for someone to care for and to care for me. The dependency that we desire from others and desire to grant is a despicable yet beautiful human trait. Obviously it was designed for mating, built into our genes to perpetuate the existence of our species, but it is so goddamn exploitative. I am being manipulated and deceived by myself, and not only am I doing it to myself but I’m aware of it and remain powerless in its path.

Just got home from work at about 11:15. I started one of my two jobs this morning by getting out of bed at 8. Long. Day. I haven’t seen any of my friends at the moment, and since after the movie last night, I feel like my outlook on life has changed. Lady in the Water may have changed me, and I’m coping with it somehow with this depression. I was depressed for an extended period of time long ago, and I simply avoid that these days with some pro-active action. I haven’t really been depressed in a long long time, and now it seems I’m back. Perhaps it is like the anarchy that follows a revolution in government. Despotism falls to anarchy and from the ash of the reign of chaos emerges something more refined and civilized. That is the only silver lining I can find.

My bestest friend Elizabeth has extended her vacation in our home state of Missouri, so I won’t see her tomorrow as planned. Bought a movie and was ready to go! Lamer. My friend Vicky is depressed post-boyfriend, wish I could help her out. As for Richard? All kinds of shit’s going on with me, but I don’t bitch about myself. I don’t like to be down on the R-Man if I can help it. I just like to come up with retarded nickname for him, like “the R-Man.” Wish I could write something…

How I Saved (My Cell Phone) Summer Vacation

Wait, that doesn’t make sense. But it is a thinly veiled prelude to me talking about hacking my cell phone! I bought a SLVR L6 Silver w/o iTunes for about 140 at this website, but soon came to learn its European and lacks the 850 band Cingular uses in my area. What to do? Hack my phone with this. A PC, a USB cable, software that recognizes moto phones, a hex editor and 10 minutes got me a phone that works everywhere in the freakin’ world! Five bars everywhere baby! Take that Europe!

Anyone who talks to me on a fairly regular basis knows that I have been pissed for months with this phone, but now its quad-band and I saved about 200 bucks. Ass-kickin.

Well, you should be.

Anyways, this cool program called CoverFlow for Mac (sorry PC people) is the most beautiful way to turn iTunes into a visual jukebox. Kicks the crap out of anything else I’ve seen, including Windows Media Player 11′s new system of organizing album art, which I thought until now was most impressive.

Lovers Hate Gravity

I decided that the title of this log is true. Lovers hate gravity! Why would they enjoy something that binds them to anything but each other? Gravity holds them to the ground when two free-living and loving spirits could float together in the eternal bliss. I will soon write a poem with that title as the title. And it will be good.

Well, I finally found a theme that isn’t pretentious on its own merit. Instead it’s pretentious because I made it . So I’m listening to the Polar Express soundtrack, the film being directed by Robert Zemeckis. You were wondering we he’s been weren’tcha? Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, and then, there was a quiet wind in the trenches. Well, he’s doing CG animation films now it seems, his next is similar to Polar Express, since its holiday oriented: Halloween. What’s next for Mr. Zemeckis? I’m thinking Flag Day.
